The minimum age for training is 10 years old.

The nice thing about earning your Open Water Diver certification is that a good deal of the training is self-paced. You are required to complete the eLearning prior to the start of the Confined Water portion of the training.
After completing the eLearning, we will start the Confined Water Portion of the training which includes 5 dives, learning various skills. After the Confined Water portion, we will move into the Open Water Dives, there are 4.
Typically, the training takes 3 days (not including eLearning).

A PADI certification card is like your scuba ID. The certification card (or C Card) shows a dive shop what level you are at, which indicates how deep you can go and what the dive shop can expect of you as a diver.
-
A PADI certification NEVER expires. However, if you have not gone diving within 6 months, it is recommended that you take the ReActivate scuba refresher course.
-
Each training course has a different cost based on time, equipment, and class size. Private lessons are priced on a case-by-case basis.

Direct from their page:Divers Alert Network (DAN), a nonprofit organization, exists to provide expert medical information for the benefit of the diving public.
DAN’s historic and primary function is to provide timely information and assistance for underwater diving injuries, to work to prevent injuries, and to promote dive safety.
Second, DAN promotes and supports underwater dive research and education, particularly as it relates to the improvement of dive safety, medical treatment and first aid.
Third, DAN strives to provide the most accurate, up-to-date and unbiased information on issues of common concern to the diving public, primarily — but not exclusively — for dive safety
