Running my first PADI Instructor Development Course was a meaningful full-circle moment in my professional journey. This IDC was intentionally planned before the busy season to give new instructors the time and space to build confidence, gain experience, and transition smoothly into teaching roles. Using the Annapolis pool for confined water and Lake Phoenix for open water training, we focused on real-world readiness, mentorship, and developing instructors who lead with safety, empathy, and professionalism.
