Adaptive Support Diver Specialty
Adaptive Support Diver
Diving changed my life, and I believe it should be available to everyone. This course helps you become the kind of diver who shows up with awareness, confidence, compassion, and the skills to support divers of all abilities.
This course hits different.
The Adaptive Support Diver Specialty is about more than learning how to assist. It is about becoming the kind of dive buddy who sees people, understands that not every diver moves or learns the same way, and knows how to help create a safe, empowering underwater experience.
You will learn practical techniques for supporting divers before, during, and after dives, while building the communication, empathy, and situational awareness that make truly great dive buddies and leaders.
Whether you are a newer diver wanting to build confidence or someone who feels called to help make diving more inclusive, this course gives you tools you can use for the rest of your diving life.
What you will learn
This is real-world training that helps you become a more capable, aware, and supportive diver in every environment.
- How to recognize and better understand a range of physical and cognitive challenges
- How to adapt dive planning, briefings, and skills to fit the diver, not force the diver to fit the system
- In-water techniques to support buoyancy, movement, positioning, and comfort
- Clear communication strategies before, during, and after the dive
- How to anticipate needs, build trust, and create a calm, respectful dive environment
The best divers are the ones people feel safe with.
This course builds awareness, patience, adaptability, and teamwork. Those are the things that matter when you are responsible for another human underwater.
You will leave this course as a stronger dive buddy and a more thoughtful diver, period.
